Over the summer I went to a Sheep Day at Spitalfields City Farm with Brie and Kirsty, it was organised as part of London's sustainability fortnight. There was sheep shearing, racing of some reluctant sheep, spinning and felt making. Kirsty and I had a go at making some felt brooches (although I don’t think either of us has as since worn the said piece of felt as a brooch to date!)
First of all we carded the fleece…
Arranged it a design of our choice (we went a bit abstract)
Then got it all soapy,
and rolled it again and again, and again…
Ta-Da!
More photos at my flickr set here.
Despite it being a day which was all about sheep, I did really love this pig.

I made some felten walking stick cosies today. Felt is amazingly wondrous. You look very shiny and happy in the photo xx

Hee hee! Thanks for posting this- I'd forgotten you'd photographed it. We really ought to get around to wearing those brooches...
