Oh, Harry Patch... the first thing I heard when I turned on the radio this morning was a story about his burial. It's so sad. I had no idea about the Radiohead song - thank you for the link, it's lovely... very haunting.

There's something terribly romantic about war, though... for all its horribleness and brutality and definite leaning towards futility. The tendency to go to war seems so ingrained in human nature... it's quite strange, really. Strange and sad. I don't really have a particular 'view' on war as a concept just yet... I need to learn more about the history of it all though, it's very interesting. I love the war poets too.

I'm just catching up with blogland - I see you have moved to London -what fun! Hope you are settling in nicely :)
